All Schools to Close for third Term In the Following Dates this Month.

Schools across Kenya are entering the final weeks of the 2026 academic year, with learners expected to complete the third and final term before institutions close for the long holiday.

The third term represents the concluding phase of the school calendar and is expected to be marked by the completion of lessons, revision programmes, examinations and other academic activities. Schools are also preparing to conclude administrative processes ahead of the end of the year.

For learners, the approaching holiday will provide an opportunity to take a break after a demanding academic year. Families are also expected to use the period to organise holidays, travel and other activities outside the classroom.

Parents and guardians have been advised to pay close attention to communication from individual schools as the end of the term approaches. Schools may issue information on examination timetables, report forms, outstanding fees, collection arrangements, school requirements and reopening plans for the 2027 academic year.

The final weeks are particularly important for candidates preparing for national examinations. Teachers are expected to intensify revision and ensure learners have covered the required areas before examinations begin.

Schools will also be required to complete several administrative duties, including finalising academic records, preparing learners’ reports and providing instructions on examination procedures, holiday arrangements and the next academic year.

Parents planning to travel with their children are expected to make arrangements early, especially for long-distance journeys, to avoid difficulties associated with last-minute planning.
