We Have Weapons More Powerful Than Nuclear Weapons, People Are Going to Get Wrapped Up – Ex-US Navy

Former US Navy SEAL Rob O’Neill has offered a different perspective on discussions surrounding possible American military action involving Iran, arguing that much of the public debate remains influenced by Cold War-era views of US military capabilities.

Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, O’Neill addressed recent comments by commentator Tucker Carlson, who had called on military and Pentagon officials to refuse presidential orders involving nuclear strikes against Iranian civilians.

O’Neill did not support disobeying lawful presidential orders but highlighted the distinction within military service between lawful and unlawful commands.

He also argued that public discussions often place too much emphasis on nuclear weapons when assessing American military strength. According to O’Neill, the United States possesses highly advanced conventional weapons capable of causing significant destruction, meaning nuclear weapons are not the only measure of its military power.

Without identifying specific weapons systems, O’Neill suggested that the public has a limited understanding of modern American military capabilities. He argued that many assessments of a potential conflict with Iran continue to rely on an outdated Cold War framework.

O’Neill also referred to an earlier US special operations mission in Iran, suggesting that the prolonged presence of American forces during the rescue operation may have created operational opportunities connected to Iranian nuclear materials.

However, he did not provide specific details about the possibilities he was referring to.

His comments ultimately shifted the discussion from a narrow focus on nuclear weapons toward a broader examination of conventional military capabilities, special operations and modern power projection.

O’Neill’s remarks come amid continued debate over potential US military responses involving Iran and the range of options available to American decision-makers.
