Rangers to remain deployed in key areas until October 15

The federal government has extended the deployment of Rangers in Islamabad and parts of Punjab until October 15 amid preparations related to the PTI long march, 24NewsHD TV reported.

The government had earlier approved the deployment of Rangers until October 5.

According to officials, Rangers personnel are currently deployed in Islamabad, Attock, Rawalpindi and Jhelum, while troops are also on alert in Mianwali, Lahore and other areas.

The security arrangements have been strengthened to prevent any untoward incident, disorder or violent activity.
