Bad News for Ruto as US Doctors Advise Orengo to Stop Doing This — Details

ODM Party Leader and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga is reportedly scaling down his involvement in political activities after receiving medical advice from doctors in the United Kingdom. The veteran politician is said to have been encouraged to avoid physically demanding engagements and reduce his participation in intensive political activities as he focuses on his health and recovery.

Oburu travelled to the UK following recommendations from medical professionals that he undergo further examinations and dedicate sufficient time to rest. Since his arrival, he has maintained a relatively quiet public presence and has been absent from several political events.

His reduced participation comes as ODM continues to deliberate on its political plans and organisational direction ahead of the 2027 General Election. Before stepping away, Oburu had expressed confidence in the party’s leadership and structures, suggesting that ODM could continue its operations without requiring his daily involvement.

During his absence, the ODM leader pointed to Deputy Party Leaders Paul Simba Arati and Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, alongside other officials serving in the party’s national organs, as individuals capable of managing the party’s affairs.

Speculation surrounding Oburu’s health has grown in recent weeks, with supporters and political observers seeking clarification about his condition. Earlier reports had caused concern, although the senator previously attempted to ease public fears by saying that one of his hospital visits had been for a routine medical check-up.

His latest absence has renewed interest in his health and political future. However, there has been no announcement suggesting that Oburu intends to permanently withdraw from politics. His current situation therefore appears to be linked to medical care and recovery rather than an established decision to retire from public life.
