Governor meets ANP, PML leaders amid political tensions in KP

Peshawar  –  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi Thursday held separate meetings with Awami National Party (ANP) leader and former provincial minister Sardar Hussain Babak and Pakistan Muslim League MPA Malik Tariq Awan to discuss the political situation in the province.

PPP Parliamentary Leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Ahmad Kundi was also present during the governor’s meeting with Sardar Hussain Babak at the Governor House. The participants discussed the prevailing political situation and concerns raised by the ANP.

Speaking during the meeting, Governor Kundi said political parties shared concerns over the performance of the provincial government, which he said had failed to deliver and whose poor governance had pushed the province into serious difficulties.

He called on political parties to rise above their differences and play a constructive role in addressing the challenges facing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Later, PML MPA Malik Tariq Awan called on the governor at the Governor House. They discussed the political situation in the province, the role of political parties in the prevailing circumstances and other matters of mutual interest.

Kundi assures TDAP of support for trade promotion in KP

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi assured the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) of his support for promoting trade and economic activity in the province, particularly in Chitral.

He gave the assurance during a meeting with TDAP Director Noman Bashir and President of the Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Engr Fahad Azam at the Governor House.

Noman Bashir invited the governor to attend the concluding ceremony of the Third Chitral Expo. He also briefed him on various upcoming initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the Peshawar Gems Expo and a seminar to be organised jointly by TDAP and the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Governor Kundi said the province, particularly Chitral, had immense potential for tourism and economic development. He reiterated his commitment to extending all possible support to TDAP in promoting trade and investment and harnessing the province’s economic potential.
