Accra B2B Forum Seeks to Accelerate Business Between Togo and Ghana
(Togo First) – Togolese and Ghanaian business operators will meet in Accra from Friday, September 25, to Sunday, September 27, 2026, for the first edition of the West African B2B Connect, WABC 2026. The event aims to bring companies from the two countries closer together and facilitate the creation of trade and investment partnerships as the African Continental Free Trade Area, AfCFTA, is being implemented.
Held under the theme “From Togo to Ghana, Unlocking West African Business Potential,” the initiative will bring together companies, investors and institutions around opportunities for cooperation in the subregion.
The goal is to strengthen business ties between Lomé and Accra while making it easier for companies to access West African markets. Discussions will focus in particular on opportunities for commercial and industrial partnerships, the promotion of products and services, and the development of innovations.
SMEs and Startups at the Center of Discussions
WABC 2026 plans to place particular emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises, startups and young entrepreneurs. According to the organizers, these players, which play an important role in African economies, continue to face difficulties accessing financing, markets, investors and business networks.
The event is intended to serve as a networking platform to help create new market opportunities and develop regional value chains.
“Building markets means creating favorable conditions for the movement of goods, services and investment. Creating partnerships means developing regional value chains capable of generating more wealth and jobs,” the organizers said.
Bilateral Trade on the Rise
The event follows a mission by Ghanaian business operators to Lomé on July 30. The discussions covered, among other areas, mining, manufacturing and textiles, three sectors identified as possible avenues for diversifying trade between the two countries.
Such initiatives have increased as bilateral trade has grown over the past decade. According to UN Comtrade data, Togo’s exports to Ghana rose from about $55 million in 2015 to more than $70 million in 2019, before slowing in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The recovery continued afterward. In 2024, Togo’s exports to Ghana reached $85.2 million, while imports from Ghana totaled $103.8 million. Merchandise trade between the two countries therefore stood at nearly $189 million.
Through WABC 2026, business operators in the two markets are now seeking to turn that growth in trade into new commercial and investment opportunities, drawing, for example, on possibilities offered by AfCFTA.
