Ghana, Norway discuss implementation of Double Taxation Agreement

Ghana and Norway have held a discussion on the implementation of the Ghana-Norway Double Taxation Agreement during high-level talks in New York.

The matter was discussed by Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister and Norway’s Minister of International Development, Åsmund Grøver Aukrust, on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly.

The meeting also focused on expanding trade and investment, with oil and gas, renewable energy, artificial intelligence and agribusiness identified as areas for greater cooperation.

The two ministers also discussed maritime security, education, skills development and business-to-business engagement.

Regional security developments in West Africa were considered, including efforts by Ghana to strengthen regional cooperation against terrorism and violent extremism.

The two sides also discussed mutual support for international candidatures.

Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister accepted an invitation to undertake an official visit to Norway later this year.

The meeting was aimed at strengthening the longstanding partnership between Ghana and Norway.
