Ghanaian gospel musician Perez Musik has disclosed that he resigned from his job at GHOne TV to pursue a career in music.
Speaking on The Career Trail on Joy Learning TV and JoyNews, he said he joined GHOne TV after completing his studies at NAFTI and undertaking his national service at the station, which was then owned by Chatterhouse.
He was subsequently employed by the station, where he worked in production, editing and directing.

During his time there, he also produced a Christian programme called Shades, which featured gospel musicians.
Perez Musik said he had put his own music ambitions aside for some time while working at the station, but eventually reached a point where he felt he needed to pursue his own talent.
“Then, Charlie, one day, the thing just tore from my eye top. I was like, ‘I’m not going to do it again. I want to go and sit at home fully and focus on my music.’ So impromptu, I just resigned,” he said.
He said the decision was influenced by the feeling that he was spending his time helping another business grow while neglecting his own creative abilities.

“I was just walking to the office. And then the voice was like, ‘You are leaving your talent and your gift. You’re going to serve in another man’s business to aid his business growth. It’s not a bad thing. But for how long can you continue doing that?’” he recalled.
The decision was not easy, according to Perez Musik, who said he had been influenced by a book that encouraged people to remove their safety nets when pursuing their ambitions.
“That time, I had read a book. And it spoke about burning bridges, you know. If you really want to achieve something, burn all bridges, put pressure on yourself. It was difficult. It was a difficult decision. But I took it,” he said.
His resignation did not immediately lead to success. However, Perez Musik said he does not regret leaving the job.

He also expressed gratitude to Chatterhouse for the opportunities he received during his time there.
“I have no regrets about leaving my office job. But I am so grateful to Chatterhouse because they gave me a lot of opportunities that helped me along my music journey,” he said.
