In Ghana, Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for the Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam constituency Cassiel Ato Forson thanked residents of his constituency for their trust and support over 18 years of service in parliament. This was reported by MyJoyOnline.
Speech at the festival
Forson spoke at a ceremonial gathering during the Akwambo festival in Enyan Abaasa. He said he was grateful to the people for their understanding as he combines parliamentary duties with his work as finance minister.
According to the politician, every time he comes home, he feels the community’s love. He stressed that he had primarily come to thank the residents of Enyan Abaasa for the understanding and trust they had shown throughout his years of service.

Ministerial duties
Forson acknowledged that the responsibilities entrusted to him by President Mahama had made frequent visits to the constituency more difficult. He also mentioned advice from the paramount chief of the Enyan Abaasa traditional area, Osagyefo Kwame Akoni, to focus on his work, properly represent the constituency, and avoid wrongdoing.
According to the minister, the chief assured him that he would take care of the people at home. Forson added that upon returning, he had seen that everything was well in the community.
