Senator Karen Nyamu has Kenyans in stitches after sharing a video revealing she turned down a man who tried to shoot his shot, all because of his political views.

The Nairobi senator posted the clip on Facebook on Tuesday, August 22, showing herself walking with a confident stride near what appeared to be an upscale hotel.
In the accompanying post, she recounted how a man had approached her, expressed interest in walking her to her car, and asked for her number. His request, however, ran into one very firm obstacle.

“Hapa bila kura ya Ruto… utoboi,” which loosely translates to “here, without a vote for Ruto, you cannot make it.”
She went on to spell it out even more directly, stating that a man must be a registered voter with good political judgment, and that was that.
The post, written in a mix of English and Swahili, quickly gained traction as Kenyans debated whether political loyalty was a reasonable dating requirement.
