ZondaTec Ghana Limited has strengthened its position in Ghana’s automotive market with the launch of its newest models, the Tank 700 luxury SUV and the Souo 2000.

The vehicles were unveiled during the grand reopening of ZondaTec’s modernised Dzorwulu showroom in Accra on November 18, 2025.

The upgraded facility forms part of the company’s ongoing expansion drive and adds to its growing network of showrooms nationwide.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony on Tuesday, ZondaTec Ghana CEO Madam Yang Yang described the launch as a significant milestone for the company.

She noted that since entering the Ghanaian market over a decade ago, ZondaTec has expanded into two vehicle assembly plants, one for heavy-duty trucks and another for light-duty vehicles, employing more than 500 people.

Reflecting on the company’s journey, Yang emphasised Ghana’s role in its growth and reiterated ZondaTec’s commitment to job creation and long-term development in the country.

“This year, I am 44 years old, and I have at least another 20 years to work. I see myself as an energetic motor that never gets tired. In China, we have a complete supply chain, and in Ghana, we have an excellent workforce. Young people make up 70 percent of the population, and I always say that Ghanaian youth are incredibly talented. The moment they touch a vehicle, it’s like magic, they have a gift for working on it. That is why I am bringing Chinese technology to Ghana,” she stated.

Yang further revealed plans to establish a training academy to equip Ghanaian youth with skills in automobile technology and related fields.

“I am building a five-story training centre, which we call Zonda Academy. The Chinese government has recognised Zonda and intends to invest heavily in training Ghanaians. After the theoretical training, graduates will gain practical experience by working in the Zonda assembly plant,” she added.

The newly introduced Tank 700 marks ZondaTec’s most premium SUV offering to date. Produced by Great Wall Motor (GWM), the model is known for its rugged design, advanced technology, and high-performance engineering, positioning it competitively within the luxury SUV segment.
