According to a report by Ghbase News, the Ghana Police Service has launched an intensive manhunt for a suspect identified as Mark Agingre, believed to be the mastermind behind a series of gruesome murders in the Upper East Region.
The police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating the fugitive and have announced a ₵1 million reward for anyone who provides credible information leading to his arrest.
According to police reports, Mark Agingre, a native of Binduri, is wanted in connection with multiple homicides that have shocked the local community and raised national concern.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect may be behind two separate but equally disturbing attacks that have claimed the lives of several individuals, including children.
Authorities say the most recent incident occurred on November 7, 2025, when a man, his wife, and three of their children were killed in what police describe as a “brutal and deliberate” attack. Another child who survived the assault is currently battling for life at the Bolgatanga Government Hospital, receiving emergency medical care.
A police spokesperson revealed that Agingre is also wanted for another violent crime committed on October 27, 2025, in Binduri, where an elderly man and his two children were found dead under similarly tragic circumstances.
The statement added that detectives believe the suspect may be connected to other unsolved killings in the region.
“Preliminary evidence points to a disturbing pattern of targeted attacks, and we are leaving no stone unturned in our pursuit of justice,” the spokesperson said.
“We are urging anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts to immediately contact the nearest police station or call 191 or 18555. The identity of informants will be protected.”
The Ghana Police Service emphasized its commitment to ensuring public safety and bringing the suspect to justice.
The service assured residents that specialized units have been deployed to track Agingre’s movements, and intelligence operations are ongoing across the northern and upper regions.
The statement concluded with a strong appeal for cooperation from the public, noting that community support remains critical in resolving such serious crimes.
“We are determined to find this individual and ensure that he faces the full force of the law. The Ghana Police Service is committed to protecting every citizen and restoring peace to affected communities,” the spokesperson added.
As the search intensifies, the police are warning the public not to approach the suspect if spotted, but to report any useful information promptly.
The case has generated widespread concern, with residents in Binduri and surrounding districts urged to remain vigilant as the investigation continues.
