In a fiery new revelation, Abronye has dropped another political bombshell, accusing Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of allegedly paying off influential figures within the current NDC government to protect himself and his former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, from potential prosecution.
According to Ohia TV, Sunday, November 9, 2025, the outspoken former Bono Regional Chairman claimed that Nana Addo’s recent underground activities are part of a desperate attempt to avoid facing the consequences of the alleged financial crimes and economic mismanagement that characterized his tenure.
Abronye asserted that the former President is “terrified” of what could happen should investigative authorities fully expose Ken Ofori-Atta’s dealings, insisting that the fallout would directly implicate Nana Addo himself.
“Nana Addo knows the moment Ken Ofori-Atta is caught, he’ll be finished politically. That’s why he’s paying big money to some top NDC men now — just to keep things quiet,” Abronye claimed in the viral interview.
He further alleged that the former administration left behind a trail of dubious contracts, inflated deals, and state funds that were mismanaged under Ken Ofori-Atta’s watch — issues that could easily lead to legal trouble if reopened by the current government.
Abronye accused Nana Addo of using secret intermediaries and political networks to influence investigations and suppress critical information that could expose deeper corruption links within his circle. He boldly declared that “no amount of bribery or cover-up” will stop the truth from coming out eventually.
Let him pay all the money he wants — the truth will still come out. They can’t escape justice forever,” Abronye stated.
Even though Abronye is a strong NPP member who has often spoken in defense of the party, he made it clear that he will not support wrongdoing or corruption within his own ranks. He emphasized that his loyalty is to Ghana, not individuals, and vowed to expose anyone who abuses power for personal gain.
“I’m NPP, yes — but I won’t defend nonsense. If you do wrong, I’ll speak the truth and expose you,” he declared firmly.
His remarks have sparked intense conversation across Ghana’s political space, with citizens and analysts demanding clarity from both the former President’s office and investigative bodies regarding the alleged payments and possible interference in state matters.
While some have dismissed Abronye’s allegations as politically motivated, others argue that his consistency and boldness over time suggest that his claims deserve to be thoroughly examined by anti-corruption agencies.
Political watchers have also observed that this latest claim adds to a growing list of explosive statements made by Abronye in recent weeks, as he continues to expose alleged political manipulation and hidden dealings connected to former officials.
