“Shatta Wale Finally Wins Big — Charterhouse Partners Shaxi for Next Year’s TGMA”

In what many are calling a major win for the SM Empire, Ghana’s dancehall king Shatta Wale is officially set to join forces with Charterhouse, organizers of the prestigious Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

The announcement, made during a post-event stakeholder meeting, revealed that Shaxi, Shatta Wale’s ride-hailing company, will partner with Charterhouse for the next edition of the awards in 2026. This groundbreaking collaboration marks the first time an artist-led brand will directly support and co-organize Ghana’s biggest music event.

A Charterhouse spokesperson confirmed the partnership plans, saying, “Next year, we would partner with Shatta Wale’s company, Shaxi, for the TGMA. It’s part of our goal to strengthen collaboration within the industry and celebrate all musicians, regardless of past differences.”

This comes years after Shatta Wale’s controversial fallout with Charterhouse, which led to his suspension from the awards scheme following the infamous VGMA stage incident in 2019. Since then, the relationship between the two parties has been rocky—until now.

Fans of Shatta Wale, popularly known as the SM Family, have flooded social media with excitement, celebrating the news as a long-overdue reconciliation between the artist and the awards body that once blacklisted him.

Industry analysts see the move as a huge step toward unity in Ghana’s music space and a signal that the TGMA is evolving to include major industry stakeholders beyond traditional sponsors.

With this new partnership, Shatta Wale is not only reentering the TGMA family but also taking a seat at the decision-making table—solidifying his influence not just as an artist but as a business mogul shaping Ghana’s entertainment industry.
