Popular Ghanaian actor Ricky Adelayitor has revealed that many people get disappointed when they discover he is not a stammerer in real life.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM with host MC Portfolio, Ricky explained that his famous stammering trait is only a character he portrays in movies not his real-life personality.
According to him, fans who meet him in person often expect him to speak just like he does on screen, and when he speaks fluently, they become shocked or even feel deceived.
He narrated a humorous incident that occurred when he once visited a friend’s shop. Upon arrival, he stammered while speaking to the secretary, who ignored him, thinking he was struggling to communicate.
However, when his friend showed up and asked if “Uncle Ricky” was playing a prank on her, she was stunned when Ricky switched to speaking fluently. “The secretary’s mouth was wide open in shock,” he recounted, laughing.Ricky Adelayitor is widely recognized in the Ghanaian movie industry for his comic roles, particularly those where he plays a stammering character — a skill that has won him admiration and laughter from many movie lovers.
He concluded that his ability to act as a stammerer is a gift and part of his creative versatility as an actor.
