‘He Doesn’t Need the Voters’ – Kwame Pianim on Why Mahama is Ghana’s Only Hope

Kwame Pianim, a distinguished member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has shared his views on why President John Dramani Mahama remains the most suitable leader to steer Ghana in the right direction as per reports from Ghana Web.

Pianim, speaking in an interview with TV3’s Beatrice Adu, emphasized Mahama’s unparalleled experience in public service, which he believes positions him as the only person capable of addressing the country’s challenges.

“The president has the historic opportunity to set this country right,” Pianim stated, pointing at Mahama’s extensive background, from serving as an assemblyman to holding the highest office in the land.

He believes that Mahama’s familiarity with the nation’s issues makes him uniquely qualified to lead Ghana into a new era.

Pianim further stressed that Mahama’s return to the presidency after years of political service gives him a special position, free from the constraints of political party loyalty or the pressures of electoral cycles.

“He doesn’t need the voters again; he doesn’t need the political party,” Pianim remarked.

He believes that this independence enables Mahama to focus on setting an agenda that could reshape the political system of Ghana.

According to Pianim, Mahama could also play a pivotal role in reforming the political culture in Ghana, particularly by addressing the monetization of politics.

With this power, he argues that Mahama could inspire future generations and provide hope for the youth.
