16 Saviour Church members laid to rest after tragic highway crash

Sixteen members of the Saviour Church of Ghana who lost their lives in a fatal road crash on the Atwedie section of the Kumasi-Accra highway have been laid to rest in a mass burial at Obogu in the Asante Akyem North Municipality.

The tragic accident occurred on Monday, July 28, around 2:30 p.m., as the victims were returning from the Church’s annual programme held in the Eastern Region.

According to eyewitnesses, the crash involved a head-on collision between a vehicle transporting the church members and a fuel tanker travelling in the opposite direction.
In a sombre ceremony marked by grief and sorrow, members of the Obogu community and the Church came together to dig a single large grave to bury all 16 victims, a symbolic gesture of unity in life and death.

The incident has left the entire Obogu community and the Church in deep shock and mourning, with families and friends of the deceased struggling to come to terms with the tragic loss.
