MATCH REPORT: Goalkeeper Mohammed Camara heroics hand Asante Kotoko SC 2025 Toyota Cup trophy in South Africa

Asante Kotoko SC has clinched the 2025 Toyota Cup after beating Kaizer Chiefs FC on penalties at their own backyard. With a score of 3-2, the Porcupine Warriors humbled Kaizer Chiefs FC at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban this afternoon.

The Ghanaian heavyweight, despite suffering in possession to the host, Kaizer Chiefs FC managed to hold them for a goalless draw at full time.

In the 82nd minute, Kotoko conceded a penalty through defender Lord Amoah silly tackle in the box but Kaizer Chiefs FC skipper Miguel missed from the spot in the die embers of game to travel game to shootouts.

Asante Kotoko SC though missed three penalty kicks yet beat Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 to win 2025 Toyota Cup in South Africa. Hero of the game, was goalkeeper Mohammed Camara saving 4 penalties to ensure he clinch the Toyota Cup for Asante Kotoko SC.

This is the first preseason trophy for the Ghana Premier league record holders (26) after winning the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup tittle.
