A young Ghanaian nursing student tragically lost her life after being attacked by armed robbers.

What was meant to be an exciting day for the late Peggy Ayelbassah turned tragic when she was attacked by armed robbers on her way to Salaga for her nursing college admission interview.

The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako-Mensah, shared the heartbreaking news on his X page on July 25, 2025, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic incident.

According to him, the late Peggy was filled with hope and excitement the day before her interview, even sending him a message to inform him about her trip, but tragically, it turned out to be her final day on earth.

“The news of your death this morning just shattered me. Killed by armed robbers on your way to Salaga for your admission interview into nursing college. You sent me a WhatsApp message just yesterday on this trip,” he wrote.

In his tribute, the lawmaker recounted his personal encounters with Peggy, describing her as a devoted supporter of his political ambitions.

Adomako-Mensah added that her untimely death has left an irreplaceable void.

“Your dedication to my political ambitions will be difficult to replace. I know we are not to question God but ‘God Why.’ Sleep well. Sleep well,” he added.

The news has sparked public concerns over the alarming rise in criminal activities, with many calling on authorities to take urgent action to address the issue and curb the growing threats of people being killed from such security threats involving armed robbers.
