ABSA applauds Channel One TV for exceptional coverage

The First Vice President of the ABSA Black Star Marathon, Blake Bolden, has applauded Channel One TV for its exceptional support and wide-reaching coverage of the 2025 ABSA Black Star Marathon held in Accra on Saturday, July 26.

Speaking to Channel One TV at the event grounds, Mr. Bolden commended the station for its strong presence and seamless broadcast, which enabled audiences nationwide to experience the marathon from the comfort of their homes.

“I want to thank Channel One TV for their commendable support and broadcast very clean and for deploying staff on the ground. If you can’t be here today and you’re watching at home, mark your calendars, because planning is already underway for July 25, 2026, and it will be bigger, bolder, and better,” he said.

Bolden emphasised that the significance of the marathon goes beyond athletics, describing it as a matter of national interest. According to him, the event plays a vital role in promoting public health by encouraging citizens to stay active and maintain healthy lifestyles.

“There are many reasons for this event to be considered a national interest. It has to do with public health, just encouraging citizens to be active, healthy, and safe,” he stated.

He further stressed the importance of nurturing sports across the African continent. “It is important for Africa to develop in sporting games,” he added, pointing to the marathon as a model for similar initiatives.

With the 2025 edition attracting impressive participation from both local and international athletes, Mr. Bolden expressed hope for favourable weather and a safe, successful conclusion to the event.
