Salam Mustapha is the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)
The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has vehemently rejected claims that flagbearer hopefuls contributed to the party’s recent super delegates’ conference held on Saturday July, 19, 2025, in an attempt to curry favour with electorates.
Speaking on Channel One TV on July 20, 2025, Mustapha clarified that the donations were voluntary and made in solidarity with the party, noting the substantial costs involved in organising such a large-scale event.
“To bring over 5,000 people together, their accommodation, transport, it’s expensive. We are grateful to them for helping in these hard times,” Mustapha stated, emphasising the financial demands of the congress.
He explained that several prominent figures within the party, including former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Kennedy Agyapong, Frema Osei-Opare, and other former appointees and supporters, made significant contributions to support the event.
Mustapha asserted that these contributions were made purely in support of the party, not as a way to influence or gain favour in the ongoing flagbearership race.
He also made it clear that these donations would in no way serve as lobbying tools to become the preferred candidate for the party’s presidential slot.
He expressed satisfaction with the way members of the party had stepped up to support its rebuilding efforts.
“We are happy that members stood up for the party when it became necessary to support the party in its bid to rebuild,” Mustapha concluded, reiterating the spirit of unity and collective effort within the NPP.
