Many people are still falling for tricks that promise to make them rich overnight, and one woman’s painful story shows just how dangerous these scams can be. She believed what she saw on television—Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, also known as Agradaa, confidently promoting her “sika gari” programme, promising people that she could multiply their money through spiritual means. The victim, desperate to change her life, decided to go see Agradaa in person.
She explained how everything began with the hope of receiving a huge amount of money. “She promised me 3 billion old Ghana cedis, and I gave her all my money.” Those words alone show how much trust she had in Agradaa. She had probably saved that money for years. The promise of 3 billion old cedis sounded like a miracle, and to her, it felt like her prayers had finally been answered. So she handed over all her cash without holding anything back.
But that’s when things went terribly wrong. Instead of receiving the billions she had been promised, she got something completely unexpected and confusing. “She handed me a piece of paper and told me to stake a lottery number.” It was not only disappointing—it was shocking. She didn’t go there to stake lotto. She believed she was going to receive spiritual help to multiply her money. The idea of staking a number felt like a joke, or worse, an insult.
She said she stood up for herself, calmly explaining that she hadn’t come for that. “When I protested, explaining that I hadn’t come for that,” she continued, “she instructed her men to use a cutlass on my back.” That was the moment her hopes fully turned into pain. Her only crime was speaking the truth, and instead of being listened to, she was attacked.
“They did,” she said quietly. “And I still bear the scars.” That simple sentence says everything. The scars on her back are more than just wounds—they are a reminder of broken trust, pain, fear, and regret. She went to Agradaa full of belief and left with nothing but injury and loss.
The way she told her story showed how real and raw it still was for her. She didn’t sound angry. She didn’t even ask for pity. She just wanted people to know the truth. She didn’t lie or exaggerate anything. Every word came from a place of hurt. She was fooled, she was attacked, and she still carries the marks on her body.
Her story is a warning to others. Not every promise made in the name of God is true. Not every person on television can be trusted. And sometimes, when you chase quick money, you might lose everything—including your peace and safety. Her voice may be soft now, but her story speaks very loud.
