Dr Bawumia waved at the NPP supporters upon his arrival at the UG Stadium
The presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, arrived at the 2025 National Delegates Conference alongside other prominent personalities at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday July 19, 2025.
He was accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia; his running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (popularly known as NAPO); the Member of Parliament for Tano North, Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie; Dr. Gideon Boako; and others.
Dr Bawumia appeared cheerful, smiling and waving as enthusiastic party supporters cheered and applauded his arrival at the stadium.
The joint arrival of the former Vice President and NAPO highlights the close bond between the two as the party gears up for the flagbearer race.
The 2025 New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Delegates Conference is currently underway at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
The conference has brought together delegates from across the country to deliberate and decide on key party matters ahead of the selection of a flagbearer, scheduled for January 31, 2026.
Among the key agenda items is a proposal to amend aspects of the party’s constitution, including suggestions to expand the electoral college.
