President John Dramani Mahama has nominated two individuals for appointment as Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) in the Ashanti Region, subject to approval by their respective assemblies.
The nominations, announced in a statement issued on Thursday, July 17, are part of ongoing efforts to fill key leadership positions within local government structures.
The statement, signed by the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, named Ibrahim Issahaq as the nominee for the Atwima Mponua District Assembly and Yakubu Issifu as the nominee for the Asante Mampong Municipal Assembly.
If approved, the two will assume responsibility for overseeing local governance, development planning, and implementation of central government policies in their respective jurisdictions.
