We will win power together and share the spoils

Former Minister for Agriculture and New Patriotic Party(NPP) Flagbearer hopeful, Bryan Acheampong, has urged all former Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), to commit themselves fully support his campaign agenda, assuring them of shared glory should he win the flagbearer contest.

Speaking at an engagement with party members in a video shared on social media, Acheampong delivered a rousing call to unity and loyalty within the NPP, emphasizing that the path to power must be a collective effort—and the rewards a collective benefit.

“I will not win, we will win the power together,” Acheampong declared. “And if there are any spoils, we will share them for the benefit of our party and our country.”

He continued, warning that the contributions, or lack thereof of former MMDCEs will not go unnoticed:

“If you do it, we will hear. If you don’t do it, we will hear it too.”

Acheampong made it clear that loyalty and performance would not go unrewarded or ignored. Reaffirming his leadership style, he stated: “Me, I don’t leave my men behind.”

The Member of Parliament for Abetifi also acknowledged the symbolic significance of the NPP’s current presidential candidate, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, saying that if he, Bryan, were to emerge victorious in internal party elections, it would be Bawumia who would “hand over today as flagbearer”—and that such a handover would indeed happen.

“If I win it is Bawumia the flagbearer who will hand over today as flagbearer, and handing over he will, Bryan Acheampong said.
