MTN FA Cup Final: Asante Kotoko probable lineup to face Golden Kick SC

Asante Kotoko will look to end their 2024/25 season on a triumphant note when they face lower-tier side Golden Kick SC in the MTN FA Cup final on Sunday, June 16, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon.

This highly anticipated encounter offers more than just silverware—it’s also a golden ticket to the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, making it a do-or-die fixture for the Porcupine Warriors, who missed out on continental qualification through the league.

Kotoko booked their place in the final after a tense semi-final victory over Berekum Chelsea, while Golden Kick SC stunned the competition with a giant-killing run, knocking out top-flight clubs like Karela United and Hearts of Oak.

Despite being favourites on paper, Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito is wary of the threat posed by the fearless Golden Kick outfit and has urged fans to rally behind the team in what promises to be a fiercely contested battle.

Here is Kotoko’s likely starting lineup for the final:

Goalkeeper:Mohammed Camara

The first-choice shot-stopper is expected to retain his place between the posts. Camara has been reliable throughout the campaign and will be crucial in commanding the backline and dealing with Golden Kick’s counter attacks.

Defenders: Lord Amoah (RB) – The youngster brings energy and attacking intent from the right flank.

Henry Ansu (CB) – A composed and disciplined centre-back, key in organizing the defense. Joseph Ablorh (CB) – Offers aerial strength and experience at the back. Patrick Asiedu (LB) – Known for his overlapping runs and defensive coverage.

Midfielders: Samba O’Neil – Expected to sit deep and screen the defense while dictating the tempo. Andrews Ntim Manu – One of Kotoko’s most consistent midfielders, offering both creativity and defensive support.Baba Yahaya – Brings flair, technical ability, and a goal threat from midfield.

Forwards:Kwame Opoku – The experienced forward is back to lead the line and is expected to be the main attacking weapon. Albert Amoah – Likely to play off Opoku, combining pace and dribbling to stretch defenses. Peter Amidu Acquah – A versatile attacker who can play out wide or support the striker; brings energy and unpredictability.
