General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Ghana, Rev. Wengam leads delegation to UK headquarters

The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam has led a high-level delegation to the headquarters of the UK Assemblies of God in Manchester.

The visit on Thursday, June 12, 2025 formed part of a learning and collaboration tour, focused on strengthening ties in missions, leadership development and church planting strategies between the two denominations.

He was accompanied by his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, National President of the Ministers Wives Association and the Executive Presbytery officers, Rev. Tito Agyei, Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Ernest Birikorang, General Secretary and Rev. Simon Abu Baba, General Treasurer.

They were received and hosted by Rev. Glyn Barret, General Superintendent of UK Assemblies of God and his leadership team.

There was briefing on the recent massive reforms pursued by the UK church under the visionary leadership of Rev Glyn and Church Planting strategies adopted by the denomination.

Since both General Superintendents serve as heads of commissions of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship – Rev. Wengam, Chairman of the Church Health Commission and Rev. Glyn, Chairman of Church Planting Commission, seized the moment to discuss collaborative strategies both commissions can adopt to achieve the MM33 agenda of planting one million churches by 2033.

The delegation was taken on a tour of the new headquarters facilities acquired by the UK AOG and the premises of the Audacious Church pastored by Rev Glyn.

Both leaders called on various denominations to prioritise missions and human capital development to enhance the transformation society.

Rev. Stephen Wengam presented copies of the church’s recently launched Code of Conduct and Ethics for pastors and spouses, the church manual and gifts to Rev. Glyn and wife as well as other members of his leadership team.
