The Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has called for unity within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), urging members to set aside differences and focus on rebuilding and repositioning the party ahead of the next general elections.
In a statement released to party members, Dr. Acheampong acknowledged growing tensions and heated exchanges—particularly on social media—but warned that disunity and internal hostility would only weaken the NPP at a time when it needs strength and clarity of purpose.
“As we prepare to reposition our Party, we must stay focused on efforts to rebuild and rebrand. While passionate political discourse is natural, division and hostility only serve to weaken us,” the statement read.
Dr. Bryan Acheampong emphasized that party leadership must take the lead in restoring hope by promoting unity, discipline, and maturity. He called on all members—from grassroots activists to top executives—to recommit to the values that define the NPP.
“I urge all party members to remember what binds us: our shared values, our love for country, and our belief in a thriving Mother Ghana. Now is the time to rise above factions and forge a new path built on collaboration, courage and credibility,” he added.
The Abetifi MP stressed that it was not enough to simply move past disagreements. Rather, he urged members to embrace constructive dialogue and collective action in order to present a unified front to the Ghanaian public.
“This is about working together, disciplined and united, to build a stronger future for our Party,” Dr. Acheampong concluded.
His intervention comes at a critical moment as the NPP navigates internal challenges following its transition into opposition, with calls growing for reform, healing, and a clear roadmap toward regaining public trust.
