First Vice Chairman Seeks NPP Oti Region Chairmanship, Highlights Need for Strong Leadership

By Kingsley Mamore

Dambai (O/R), June 9, GNA – Mr. Collins Yaw Ahenkora Castro has officially decided to contest the upcoming NPP Oti Region Chairmanship.

Mr. Castro, currently serving as the Regional 1st Vice Chairman, believes the region is in dire need of leadership, rather than mere management, prompting his decision to pursue the top position.

With a rich political history dating back to his days as a student in Tokuroano during the PNDC era, Mr. Castro has built a reputation as a seasoned politician and strategist.

His tenure as a teacher in Ada-Foah, the capital town of Ada East, saw him championing the NPP agenda, serving in various capacities within the party, from grassroots polling station levels to regional roles and this extensive experience had earned him recognition across both the Volta and Oti Region.

Mr. Castro’s motivation stems from his conviction that strong leadership is crucial for the NPP’s success in the Oti Region.

“The Oti Region now has a manager for the party but not a leader,” he emphasized, highlighting the gap he aims to fill.

He has called on party members and floating voters in Oti Region to maintain faith in the party, predicting a resurgence in 2028.

Mr Castrol emphasized the party’s determination to bounce back stronger and urged unity and resilience among members.
