Rally behind ‘Ghana Must Go’ play for success

Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has praised the stage play *Ghana Must Go* as a vital cultural asset in Ghana’s effort to share its identity with the world.

The play, created by celebrated playwright Latif Abubakar, was officially launched in Accra on Thursday, May 15. It forms part of *The Big Push Ghana Project* and is being staged in collaboration with Globe Productions, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In her address at the launch, Minister Gomashie stressed the role of the production in the government’s *Black Star Experience* — a strategic cultural diplomacy campaign aimed at showcasing Ghana’s creative excellence globally.

“The Black Star Experience is about projecting Ghana’s identity boldly and purposefully and ‘Ghana Must Go’ is one of the vessels we want to use. Through theatre, we are not only entertaining, but we are also educating, inspiring, and connecting hearts across continents through our unique stories,” she said.

The Minister described the play not only as an entertainment piece but also as a platform for education, national pride, and international cultural exchange.

She called on all Ghanaians and stakeholders in the creative sector to rally behind the project.

“So I say to you all, let us push together, let us support this work, share the story, and carry Ghana’s dream, one performance, one city, one audience at a time,” Gomashie urged.
