Media personality Kofi Adoma Nwanwani has spoken candidly about his harrowing experience, revealing that at times, he wished he had succumbed to his injuries after the traumatic incident left him with severe eye damage.
He made this statement during an emergency meeting on Thursday, March 13, held to clarify details surrounding the tragic event that occurred in December 2024 and provide an update on his recovery.
His remarks come amid increasing speculation and misinformation regarding the incident.
Kofi Adoma was covering the Dormaa Kwafie festival in the Bono Region when he was accidentally shot in the face with a musket. The incident caused severe eye damage, leading to multiple surgeries.
Addressing the meeting, he expressed deep disappointment over the spread of false information about his experience.
According to him, negative public comments, combined with overwhelming hospital bills, made him wish he had not survived the ordeal.
“I am very disheartened. With some of the comments I was hearing about my situation from people, I wished I had died.
“Looking at the pain I was going through, coupled with the bills—I have gone through seven surgeries so far. We have traveled, spent so much already,” he lamented.
