Honourable Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for the Ketu North Constituency, has expressed gratitude to Honourable Haruna Iddrisu for mentoring him on how to excel as a debater in Parliament.
In a Facebook post, the first-time MP revealed that Haruna Iddrisu invited him to the front bench for a discussion on mastering the art of debating in the chamber. He expressed deep appreciation to the education minister for the rare opportunity to sit on the front bench as a new MP, noting that he gained valuable insights during their thirty-minute conversation.
He wrote, “Today, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu walked into the chamber and invited me to join him on the front bench for a conversation. For those familiar with parliamentary culture, as a first-time MP, it’s uncommon to even stand near these prominent seats. During our 30-minute discussion, he generously shared invaluable insights on becoming a better debater in the House. The best mentors guide us not just to learn but to unlock our own potential.”
Edem Agbana entered Parliament after winning the 2024 parliamentary elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The former president of the University of Ghana’s Student Representative Council (SRC) has impressed many with his maiden speech in Parliament, with some already seeing him as a potential future leader of the NDC.
