Details Emerge on How Much Ruto and His Family Paid to Stay at Malaika Beach Resort

Questions have emerged over how much President William Ruto and his family may have spent at Malaika Beach Resort in Mwanza, Tanzania, during Charlene Ruto’s wedding celebrations.

The resort hosted the President and his family when Charlene married Tanzanian businessman Isaya Yunge in a garden wedding. The event attracted attention because of the high-profile guests and the setting chosen for the celebration.

Details published about the hotel indicate that its rooms cost between KSh 20,000 and KSh 26,000 per night, depending on the season. That gives an idea of the accommodation rates, but it does not reveal the amount paid by the Ruto family.

The total bill would depend on the number of rooms booked, the nights spent at the resort and the room categories selected. Additional services, meals or event arrangements could also affect the final cost if included in the booking.

Malaika Beach Resort is located along the shores of Lake Victoria. The facility offers a private beach, an infinity swimming pool, a spa and a fitness centre. It also has wedding lawns reported to accommodate up to 4,000 guests.

The hotel’s facilities and lakeside location make it a prominent venue for visitors seeking accommodation and event services in Mwanza. However, the published room prices should not be treated as the confirmed cost of the President’s family stay.

As of the report, neither State House nor the resort had publicly disclosed the family’s accommodation bill. It is therefore not possible to state an exact figure or confirm who settled the expenses.

The wedding has drawn public interest beyond the ceremony, with Kenyans also asking about the venue and the cost of hosting the family. Until an official breakdown is released, the room rates remain an indication of possible accommodation costs, not proof of the amount paid during the visit.
