Gogo’s children hide her ID to stop her from voting for the ANC

An elderly woman has become a social media talking point after reportedly being unable to vote in the recent elections because her identification document mysteriously went missing on election day.

According to the description accompanying a viral video, the woman had taken extra precautions to keep her ID safe in the days leading up to the elections. Reports claimed that she even slept with the document under her pillow and kept it hidden beneath her clothing during the day.

However, she allegedly did not realise that her own children had hidden the document because they disagreed with her decision to vote for the African National Congress (ANC).

The incident reportedly began on election day when the elderly woman woke up, got ready and dressed in ANC-branded clothing to show her support for the party.

But when she was preparing to leave for the voting station, she discovered that her ID was missing. She reportedly searched for it, unaware that her children had allegedly hidden it to prevent her from casting her ballot for her preferred party.

The unusual incident has since attracted reactions across social media. While some users found the situation amusing, others highlighted the family disagreement over political choices during the elections.
