Accident Injures Benue APC Delegates Heading to Lafia Rally
According to a report by The Vanguard on Friday, November 6, 2026, several delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State have sustained serious injuries following a road accident involving their vehicle while travelling to a party rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
The accident reportedly occurred on Saturday in Lafia, just a few kilometres from the venue of the political gathering. The bus conveying the delegates was said to have collided head-on with another vehicle.
Although the exact number of injured persons had not been established as of the time of filing this report, the victims were reportedly evacuated to hospitals in Lafia for urgent medical attention.
The incident was confirmed by Dan-Morgan Ihomun, Publicity Secretary of the Austin Agada-led faction of the APC in Benue State.
Ihomun disclosed that two vehicles were involved in the crash but assured that no lives were lost.
According to him, those who sustained injuries had been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The accident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of party members travelling long distances to attend political gatherings, particularly following a similar tragedy involving APC delegates from the state earlier this year.
On March 25, 2026, three APC delegates from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State lost their lives in a road accident while travelling from Makurdi to Lafia.
About 10 other passengers were also injured in that incident, which occurred as they were heading to the APC North-Central Zonal Congress.
The latest crash is another setback for the party’s delegates from Benue State, although the confirmation that no life was lost has brought some relief.
The condition of the injured delegates and the exact number of those affected were yet to be officially disclosed.
