The Seven Institutions Visited By Bawumia In Japan Sparks Reactions Online

Ghanaians have taken to social media to react to a post by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who shared details of a series of high-level meetings held by his delegation in Japan. The NPP Flagbearer posted the update on his official Facebook page on November 6, 2026, and it quickly drew a wave of responses from supporters and followers.

According to the post, the delegation met with seven institutions over the last couple of days. These included the Central Bank of Japan, where discussions centred on monetary policy, the central bank digital currency (CBDC) and payment systems. The team also engaged Japan’s Digital Agency, which he described as the equivalent of Ghana.Gov.

Other engagements covered vaccine research and manufacturing at Chiba University, and flood control and river management at the Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The delegation also met the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security, and UNIDO Japan, where industrial policy in Japan and other countries was discussed. The final meeting was with the Chairman of the Research Committee on International Affairs, who is also a Member of the House of Councillors in Japan’s National Diet.

The NPP Flagbearer described the meetings as insightful and fruitful, and thanked the hosts for their hospitality, participation and valuable insights. The post was accompanied by photographs showing the delegation in discussions, a conference room meeting, a presentation session and an exchange of souvenirs with a Japanese official.

Reactions online were largely positive. Many commenters expressed strong confidence in his leadership, with several describing him as the person next in line to lead the country. Others offered prayers and good wishes for him and his household, while some voiced optimism about Ghana’s future and the possibility of his return to national leadership.

The post has added to ongoing conversations about the economic and technological ideas shaping Ghana’s development, as supporters continue to follow his activities closely.
