NDC to Lose 29 Seats, NPP to Gain 12 in 2028 Elections – Mussa Dankwah’s New Poll Reveals
According to a report by JoyNews on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, a new parliamentary seat projection by Global InfoAnalytics has predicted that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) could lose 29 parliamentary seats, while the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is expected to gain 12 seats in the 2028 general elections.
The projection, released by the research organisation led by Mussa Dankwah, indicates that the NPP could increase its current parliamentary representation from 88 seats to 100. Meanwhile, the NDC is projected to see its seats reduced from 185 to 154.
Despite the expected decline in its parliamentary representation, the NDC is still projected to maintain a comfortable majority in Parliament after the 2028 elections.
According to the figures, the NDC could secure 55.8 per cent of the total parliamentary seats, while the NPP is expected to obtain 36.2 per cent.
However, the research organisation has identified 22 constituencies where the final outcome remains uncertain. Twenty of these constituencies have been classified as undisclosed, while two others have been described as toss-up seats, meaning either political party could win them.
The Eastern Region has the highest number of undisclosed constituencies, with five, followed by the Ashanti Region with four. The Western Region has three, while the Upper East Region has two.
The remaining undisclosed constituencies are spread across the Central, Greater Accra, Oti, Upper West, Western North and Bono regions.
Global InfoAnalytics explained that the projection was generated using its Multilevel Regression and Poststratification (MRP) model.
However, the research organisation cautioned that the figures are estimates and should not be considered a definite prediction of the 2028 election results.
The projections suggest that although the NDC could maintain its parliamentary majority, the NPP has the potential to increase its representation in the next general elections.
