Obama Campaign Volunteer Gives Edwin Sifuna Secret Formula for Winning Kenya’s Presidency
A Kenyan woman who claims to have volunteered during former United States President Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns has shared crucial political strategies she believes could help Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna secure victory in the 2027 General Election.
Mercy Atis, who previously lived in the United States, attracted attention after sharing a TikTok video in which she offered advice to Sifuna and his Linda Mwananchi Movement team based on her experience working with Obama’s campaign.
Atis revealed that she had already registered as a volunteer with the Linda Mwananchi Movement but was still considering how best to contribute to the political outfit.
Drawing comparisons between Obama and Sifuna, she expressed confidence in the senator’s political potential, predicting that Kenya could witness a significant political transformation during the 2027 elections.
One of her major recommendations was for Sifuna’s team to organise high-profile fundraising events involving celebrities, musicians, actors and social media influencers.
She recalled how Obama’s campaign organised major fundraising events at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, attracting prominent personalities who helped mobilise financial support.
According to Atis, presidential campaigns require substantial financial resources, and Sifuna’s team should not hesitate to ask supporters for contributions.
She also recommended establishing organised call centres to strengthen voter mobilisation and communication.
Atis explained that during her involvement in Obama’s campaign, volunteers worked from a call centre at KTLA News on Sunset Boulevard, contacting voters to confirm their registration and helping elderly and persons with disabilities access transport on election day.
She challenged Sifuna’s team to introduce similar structures in Kenya to improve grassroots mobilisation ahead of 2027.
The TikToker further encouraged the movement to strengthen its merchandise distribution and aggressively promote its existing online donation platform.
Atis also called on Kenyans with both large and small social media platforms to actively participate in Sifuna’s campaign.
Her recommendations attracted mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans supporting her proposals and urging the senator’s team to engage influential entertainers.
Others argued that the movement should prioritise grassroots communication and expand its volunteer network.
Atis, who identified herself as a Luo woman from Siaya County, concluded by expressing hope that Sifuna would eventually occupy State House.
Her advice has added a new dimension to the growing political conversation surrounding Sifuna’s possible presidential ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
