Cardoso’s Shock Bombshell Leaves Sundowns Fans In Absolute Disbelief

CARDOSO BREAKS SILENCE AFTER CAF DISAPPOINTMENT AS HE MAKES BIG PROMISE TO SUNDOWNS SUPPORTERS

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has delivered a strong message to the club’s supporters following the Brazilians’ disappointing elimination from the CAF Champions League, insisting that hard work, determination and commitment will remain at the centre of the team’s ambitions.

The Portuguese tactician has found himself under increased scrutiny after Sundowns suffered an unexpected continental setback, bringing an early end to their CAF Champions League campaign. The elimination has raised questions among supporters about the team’s performances and its ability to compete consistently at the highest level.

However, Cardoso has made it clear that he understands the frustration surrounding the club and is determined to lead the team forward rather than dwell on the disappointment.

Speaking about his message to the Sundowns faithful, the coach offered a promise based on effort rather than unrealistic guarantees.

“That’s the promise I can make to Mamelodi Sundowns fans is how we gonna push, to fight for everything we can, we don’t promise nothing, but we promise work and determination and a lot of commitment,” Cardoso said.

His comments underline an important message at Chloorkop: the team may not be able to guarantee trophies, but it can guarantee that every available opportunity will be approached with maximum effort.

Sundowns are one of South Africa’s most successful football clubs, with a demanding supporter base that expects domestic dominance and strong performances in continental competitions. Their ambitions extend beyond simply participating in major tournaments, making the recent CAF disappointment particularly difficult to accept.

For Cardoso, the immediate challenge is restoring confidence, improving consistency and ensuring that the players respond positively on the pitch.

The coach will also be expected to find solutions to the issues exposed during the continental campaign, particularly as the club continues competing for domestic honours.

Despite the setback, Sundowns still have important objectives to pursue this season. Their performances in the Betway Premiership and other domestic competitions will be crucial in determining whether they can turn a difficult period into a successful campaign.

Cardoso’s message could therefore prove significant in calming supporters who want reassurance about the club’s direction.

Ultimately, Sundowns fans will judge the coach and his players by their performances rather than their promises. The expectation at Chloorkop remains clear: compete, fight and deliver results.

For now, Cardoso is asking supporters to believe in the team’s commitment as he attempts to guide the Brazilians through a challenging period.
