Listen to this article Share Anyone can sell you a product. But do you get help when a need arises?

Across three days at Landmark, from October 27 to 29, 2026, over 1,000 visitors put that idea to the test, and their questions kept returning to the same simple things: who fixes it, how fast, and will they come to me?

itel Energy’s answer was a commitment visitors could measure: resolution within 48 hours, door-to-door service that comes to customers’ homes or businesses, five flagship service centres, and over 200 service centres across more than 60 cities, backed by Carlcare and Transsion Group’s network of more than 2,000 service centres spread across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Alongside the after-sales service showcase, the newly launched PowerTank 1000 and IP54 11kW Hybrid Inverter attracted significant attention at the itel Energy stand, with visitors keen to understand how each solution caters to different power needs across homes and businesses.

The PowerTank 1000 generated strong interest among homeowners, small business owners and individuals seeking a compact, versatile power solution for everyday use. The live demonstration, which featured the unit powering a water-dispenser and a mini chiller, drew considerable engagement, with visitors asking questions about runtime, battery capacity and its ability to support essential home appliances and small business equipment.

Meanwhile, the IP54 11kW Hybrid Inverter attracted homeowners and business operators looking for a more robust power solution capable of supporting larger household appliances and higher-demand business equipment.

Visitors made enquiries about pricing, installation requirements, warranty coverage and the inverter’s parallel capability, particularly its potential to support greater power demands.

Across both product demonstrations, conversations also highlighted the importance of reliable after-sales support, with visitors showing interest in itel Energy’s 247 response and 48-hour resolution service promise. Overall, the engagement provided an opportunity to demonstrate the practical applications of both products, address customer concerns and position itel Energy as a provider of power solutions for diverse residential and commercial needs.

For distributors such as SunFi, the availability of reliable after-sales support is an important consideration in helping customers transition from generators to solar energy and storage systems.

Rotimi Thomas, Co-Founder & CEO SunFi, Key Distributor, said itel Energy’s 48-hour after-sales resolution commitment was critical to building consumer confidence, particularly because customers depended on distributors to provide reliable service even though they did not manufacture the equipment themselves.

“When a consumer buys a product through SunFi, they are really buying a trusted service. That trust comes from the type of equipment we use and the promise of being able to replace or repair the assets when there is a problem,” Thomas said.

He said customers should look beyond warranty periods when choosing energy equipment, paying attention to how manufacturers handle complaints and provide repairs or replacements. Thomas also highlighted the importance of instalment payment plans in expanding access to solar energy, explaining that high interest rates and rising costs make upfront purchases difficult for many households and small businesses. SunFi introduced its payment-plan model in 2022 to enable customers to spread payments over several months, helping more Nigerians access cleaner energy solutions.

On the technical side, Engr. Emmanuel Kumuyi, country technical support manager, itel Energy Nigeria, said common customer complaints involving solar energy systems included overloading, protection-related faults, incorrect installations and mismatches between solar panel capacity, inverters and batteries.

He said many of these problems could be avoided through proper system configuration, regular maintenance and the use of certified engineers. “Customers need to get a certified engineer to carry out the installation and ensure that the solar panel capacity matches the inverter and battery requirements,” Kumuyi said.

He explained that itel Energy operates a structured after-sales process through its customer service line, where complaints are documented and referred to technical personnel for assessment. Issues that can be resolved remotely receive online engineering support, while more complex cases are escalated to engineers who visit customers to address the faults. Where necessary, the process can include component repairs or product replacement, subject to applicable warranty terms.

Supporting this service promise is the company’s distribution and service network. Lucky Ovenseri, the National Distribution Manager for itel Energy Nigeria, said the company has distributors across all 36 states, with showrooms in major commercial centres, including Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. He said itel Energy also leverages the wider Transsion Group service network to extend after-sales support to customers across the country.

Ovenseri said the company operates dedicated after-sales facilities in major cities, including Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Ibadan and Port Harcourt, alongside broader coverage through existing service centres. He added that its 48-hour turnaround commitment and replacement policy were intended to minimize disruption when customers’ equipment develops faults.

“Our after-sales service is very fast. We have a turnaround time of 48 hours, and we also operate a swap policy,” he said, explaining that customers could receive replacement equipment while their faulty units were being assessed or repaired.

For itel Energy, the combination of product demonstrations, technical support, nationwide distribution and a defined after-sales resolution commitment reflects the importance of dependable service in Nigeria’s evolving energy market. As more households and businesses consider alternatives to generators, the ability to access timely repairs, technical guidance and replacement equipment remains an important part of the transition to cleaner and more reliable power solutions.
