“Orlando Pirates Have Better Players Than Kaizer Chiefs” Masilo Machaka

Masilo Machaka, a former footballer, has lauded Orlando Pirates for their impressive squad depth and recruitment plan. Machaka has also insisted that the Buccaneers presently have players of a higher calibre than their rivals in Soweto, Kaizer Chiefs.

Machaka is of the opinion that Pirates have put together a team that is fully equipped with great football players who are capable of competing against any team in the Betway Premiership. In addition, he expressed doubts about the quality of players that Chiefs had available, particularly when contrasting the starting lineups and substitutes of the two clubs.

Machaka believes that Orlando Pirates have done an outstanding job of improving their squad by bringing in players who are capable of making an impact anytime they are given the opportunity to do so.

“The Orlando Pirates are the most talented squad in the entire nation. The Orlando Pirates have an excessive number of players of exceptional calibre, the highest level ever seen. The style in which they acquire players and the players they already have are both capable of competing against any other team in the Betway Premiership. There are players on the Orlando Pirates who are superior to those on the Phefeni Glamour Boys. With the starting eleven of the Kaizer Chiefs and the players on the bench, it was clear that this was the case. “The game-changing event did not occur,” Machaka stated.

His explanation continued by stating that Pirates were the superior team throughout the Soweto Derby. He emphasised the Pirates’ offensive prowess, particularly in the latter parts of the game.

Machaka is of the opinion that the Buccaneers produced a number of opportunities that may have led to additional goals, even before Miguel Reisinho was sent a red card.

As examples of the opportunities that Pirates produced throughout the encounter, he noted the opportunity that seemed to Evidence Makgopa as well as the aggressive contributions that Tshepang Moremi made.

If the Buccaneers had taken advantage of the opportunities that were presented to them, he believes that they would have been able to score three or four goals during the last parts of the game.

Machaka also believes that the disparity in squad quality between the two Soweto giants continues to be huge. He argues that Kaizer Chiefs still have a large amount of work to do before they can equal the level of their competitors because of this.

On that particular day, the Orlando Pirates were the superior team. You can have a peek at the second half, particularly the fifteen minutes that are left. Before Miguel received a red card, they were all over us. They were everywhere. There was an opportunity for Makgopa, and Moremi had the potential to score a hat trick. It would have been possible for the Pirates to score three or four goals with those obvious opportunities. The players for Kaizer Chiefs are not capable of reaching the level of the players for Orlando Pirates. He went on to say that in terms of quality, we are still a long way behind.

His remarks have provided yet another topic of discussion on the competition that exists between the two Soweto titans.

The assessment made by Machaka brings to light the ongoing debate regarding the quality of the team, recruitment, and the gap that exists between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. This debate is taking place as both clubs continue to battle for domestic titles.

His comments will undoubtedly be well received by the Buccaneers supporters, who will appreciate them as a form of praise for the club’s recruitment strategy and the quality of players who are currently available to the technical team.
