Okorocha Said On TV That His Ambition Is To Ensure That Uzodinma Is Not On The Ballot – Arodiogbu

In an interview on TVC News on Monday, November 2, 2026, Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu, the APC National Vice Chairman, Southeast, discussed the political disagreement between Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and former Governor Rochas Okorocha over the APC Imo West senatorial primary.

Arodiogbu spoke about the ongoing dispute following a court judgment reportedly recognising Okorocha as the winner of the senatorial primary. He maintained that Uzodinma emerged through a properly conducted direct primary and argued that Okorocha’s actions were aimed at preventing the governor from contesting the election.

Speaking during the interview, Arodiogbu stated, “Okorocha said on Arise TV that his major ambition is to ensure that Uzodinma is not on the ballot.” He made the remark while explaining the reasons behind the disagreement between the two politicians and the controversy surrounding the APC senatorial ticket in Imo West.

The APC chieftain recalled that Okorocha had made the statement during an interview on Arise TV, where he reportedly spoke about his desire to prevent Uzodinma from appearing on the ballot.

Arodiogbu further maintained that the disagreement was part of the political developments surrounding the governor’s senatorial ambition, insisting that Uzodinma had fulfilled the requirements to emerge as the party’s candidate.

The dispute has generated discussions within the APC in Imo State, particularly following the court judgment and the party’s decision to challenge the ruling through the appropriate legal channels.

He concluded that the APC would continue to defend Uzodinma’s emergence as its candidate, maintaining that the party’s position was based on the outcome of the primary monitored by its national leadership.
