A Zimbabwean couple has been arrested after allegedly being found in possession of dagga, driving an unregistered foreign vehicle and unlawfully staying in South Africa.

The arrests reportedly followed an operation in which authorities uncovered several alleged offences involving the couple. The suspects are accused of possessing dagga, commonly known as cannabis, while also travelling in a foreign-registered vehicle that was allegedly not registered in accordance with the country’s legal requirements.

Authorities also reportedly discovered that the couple were allegedly in South Africa unlawfully, raising further concerns about their immigration status.

The couple now faces potential legal consequences relating to the alleged possession of cannabis, the vehicle registration issue and possible violations of immigration laws.

The incident highlights the continued enforcement of traffic, immigration and drug-related regulations, particularly involving foreign nationals travelling within the country.

However, the couple’s arrest does not amount to a conviction, and they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
