Check That Hotel Room Before You Undress – Hidden Cameras Are Real – Expert Warns Ghanaians
Cyber Security Analyst, Jonathan Acheampong, is warning all Ghanaians to be very careful when they lodge in a hotel.
According to him, everyone must thoroughly inspect their hotel room for hidden cameras to protect their privacy and safety.
He says this is not a joke. Hidden cameras are real and some bad people are using them to secretly record guests without their knowledge. Your private moments can be recorded and later used to blackmail you or posted online.
Jonathan Acheampong says many people just enter a hotel room and start undressing, bathing, and sleeping without checking anything. That is very dangerous.
He urges Ghanaians to take 5 minutes to check the room first.
Look well around the room. Check inside the air condition, the smoke detector, the clock, the TV remote stand, the mirror, the shower head, and any small hole in the wall. Check places where a small camera can be hidden to watch the bed and the bathroom.
He also says you can off the lights and use your phone flashlight to look for any small red light blinking. You can also use your phone camera to scan the room in the dark. Some hidden cameras will show a small reflection.
If you find anything suspicious, report it immediately and leave the room. Do not keep quiet.
Your privacy is important. Your safety is important. No hotel is worth your naked video being out there.
So next time you check into any hotel, guest house, or Airbnb, inspect the room first before you relax.
