Today’s Headlines: I have more damaging secrets about Peter Obi to reveal – Datti Baba-Ahmed knocks Obidients, Tinubu salutes Sultan of Sokoto on 20th coronation anniversary

Former Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has fired back at supporters of Peter Obi, popularly known as Obidients, over attacks on him.

Speaking in an interview with Symfoni TV, Datti said Obidients are always eager to attack him whenever he says the truth about their principal, Peter Obi.

According to him, he has more damaging things to reveal about Peter Obi and the 2023 election if Obidients continue to attack him.

“Obidients are always eager to attack me. I have more damaging things to reveal. You attack me because I told you the truth about Peter Obi,” Datti said.

President Bola Tinubu has praised the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, for promoting religious tolerance and national unity as the monarch marks 20 years on the throne.

In a congratulatory message posted on his official X account on Monday, Tinubu described the Sultan as a moral authority and voice of moderation whose counsel had helped guide leaders during periods of national tension.

The President commended the monarch for building bridges across faiths and communities while preserving the heritage of the Sokoto Caliphate.

He said the Sultan’s two decades of leadership had been characterised by wisdom, humility, courage and a strong sense of responsibility.

Tinubu joined Nigerians and well-wishers abroad in celebrating the anniversary, acknowledging the traditional ruler’s contributions to peace, unity and national development.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike, has said politicians who deny the existence of the Rainbow Coalition lack the capacity to unite even their own families and communities.

Wike spoke on Monday in Abuja at the commissioning of the Gwagwalada Civic Centre and an interactive session with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress APC and the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Gwagwalada Area Council.

The minister said the coalition, which brings together political stakeholders from both parties, was formed in the interest of unity, cooperation and development in the FCT.

“Some greedy and selfish politicians do not understand what we call unity. They have no capacity to hold their space, they have no capacity to even hold their families, and they have no capacity to hold their communities. So they can open their mouths and say there is no Rainbow Coalition,” he said.

The House of Representatives has proposed limiting trustees’ investments in a single issuer to 20 per cent of a trust fund’s portfolio to reduce exposure to financial risks and protect beneficiaries’ assets.

The proposal is contained in the Trustee Investment Bill, 2026 (HB 2762), which seeks to replace the existing Trustee Investment Act of 1957 with a modern legal framework for managing trust assets.

The bill also proposes expanding the range of financial instruments trustees can invest in, introducing stricter fiduciary obligations, and strengthening reporting and regulatory oversight.

Chairman of the House Committee on Capital Market and Institutions, Solomon Bob (APC, Rivers), disclosed the proposed investment limit on Monday at a public hearing on the bill at the National Assembly in Abuja.
