Cedi Opens November With Massive Gain Against Dollar, According to Bank of Ghana

The Ghana cedi has opened November with a notable performance against the US dollar, according to the latest daily exchange rates released by the Bank of Ghana for Monday, November 2, 2026.

The latest figures show that the local currency is trading at GH₵11.6142 to the US dollar on the buying side and GH₵11.6258 on the selling side. The rates indicate the value of the cedi against the dollar at the beginning of the new month.

According to the Bank of Ghana, the published figures represent the average interbank exchange rates used by commercial banks for transactions at the close of business on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Meanwhile, the British pound sterling is trading at a buying rate of GH₵15.5549 and a selling rate of GH₵15.5704. The pound remains the highest-valued currency among the three major foreign currencies covered in the latest update.

The euro, on the other hand, is buying at GH₵12.9559 and selling at GH₵12.9678, placing it between the US dollar and the British pound.

The exchange rates are important to individuals and businesses that depend on foreign currencies for their daily activities. Importers rely on the rates to calculate the cost of goods purchased from abroad, while students and families use them to estimate expenses associated with education and living overseas.

Travellers, investors and business owners also monitor changes in the exchange market when making financial decisions.

The Bank of Ghana publishes daily exchange rates to provide the public with information about developments in the foreign exchange market. However, actual rates offered by commercial banks and forex bureaus may differ.

Ghanaians are therefore encouraged to check the latest exchange rates before undertaking foreign currency transactions.
