Today’s Headlines: Atiku Can’t Win Presidency; I Didn’t Protest Against Jonathan — Adeboye
The only thing former vice president Atiku Abubakar has going for him is his intransigence. He was vice president between 1999 and 2007, the last four of those years as an alienated deputy to his boss, former president Olusegun Obasanjo.
As a serial presidential aspirant or candidate since 2003, and with each succeeding election cycle, Alhaji Atiku has proved more intransigent, combative, and increasingly and desperately ambitious. He is entitled to his goals in life.
But, as he has probably discovered, the more he strives for the presidency, his life’s goal since 2003, the more the position becomes elusive. Consequently, the frustrations he has endured for more than two decades have turned him into a bitter and vexatious old man. By the next presidential election, he will be over 80 years old, and his chances of winning the presidency much slimmer than when he started out clumsily.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has accused journalists of misrepresenting the date he carried a placard during a prayer walk, alleging that the report falsely linked the incident to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
Adeboye said the incident occurred in 2020, five years after Jonathan left office in 2015, insisting that the walk was organised to pray against insecurity and killings in the country.
The cleric spoke to his congregation on Sunday during the church’s November Thanksgiving service, where he recounted how the report portrayed him as a wicked man for carrying a placard allegedly against the former president.
He said the report gained widespread acceptance without journalists verifying the circumstances surrounding the incident.
ABUJA- THE Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, APC, Kano North has expressed optimism that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will emerge victorious in the January 16, 2027, presidential election, citing assessments by political analysts and the prevailing political situation in the country.

Former Liverpool defender, Stephen Warnock, has revealed that he hid his seizures from the club as a youngster because he feared being released.
The 44-year-old, who now works as a football pundit for BBC Radio 5 Live, made the revelation while responding to an interview with Hull City midfielder Matt Crooks, who has epilepsy on Sunday.
Warnock, who came through Liverpool’s youth academy and went on to make 67 appearances for the club, said he suffered several seizures during his teenage years but was too frightened to inform the club.
“I was petrified of telling Liverpool because I was worried of being released,” he said.
