Da Cruz Urges Chiefs to Stay Positive Despite 12-Point Title Race Gap

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz has urged his players and supporters to remain positive despite the club falling 12 points behind in the Betway Premiership title race.

The Amakhosi are facing a challenging situation as they attempt to close the gap on the teams above them. However, Da Cruz believes there is still enough time for his side to improve its position, pointing to the number of fixtures remaining before the season concludes.

According to the Chiefs coach, the league campaign is far from over, and the team’s chances could improve once several unavailable players return to the squad.

Speaking about the situation, Da Cruz stressed the importance of maintaining confidence rather than allowing the current points difference to affect the team’s mentality.

“The PSL is a long journey, there are 21 fixtures remaining. But we will turn it on our side when we recover our squad and for sure. We must keep a positive mindset”.

His comments indicate that injuries and squad availability remain important concerns for the technical team. Chiefs will be hoping that the return of key players can provide the necessary strength and options to improve their performances in the remaining matches.

Being 12 points behind in the standings places additional pressure on the Soweto giants, particularly because they need to produce consistent results while hoping that teams above them drop points.

Nevertheless, Da Cruz is refusing to write off his team’s chances. With 21 league fixtures still to be played, he believes there is an opportunity to change their situation.

For Kaizer Chiefs supporters, the coming weeks will be important in determining whether the team can close the gap and become more competitive in the title race.

The coach’s message is clear: the squad must remain focused, recover its strength and approach the remaining fixtures with confidence.
