Mahama Govt To Fund Javits Frimpong’s Mother’s US Trip And Support Dignified Funeral – Ablakwa
According to a report by Ghbase News on Sunday November 1, 2026, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has assured the family of slain Ghanaian teenager Javits Frimpong that the government will bear the full cost of his mother’s travel to the United States to mourn her son and participate in arrangements for his funeral.
The minister also pledged the Mahama administration’s support towards organising a dignified funeral for the teenager, who was reportedly murdered in the United States.
In an update on the government’s intervention, Mr Ablakwa disclosed that he had spoken directly with the deceased’s mother, Madam Doris Adu Gyamfi, on Friday to offer support and discuss the necessary arrangements for her travel.
According to the minister, officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have already been tasked with assisting Madam Adu Gyamfi through the visa application process to facilitate her journey to the United States.
He explained that the government was committed to ensuring that financial challenges would not prevent the grieving mother from travelling to pay her last respects to her son.
“The Mahama Administration will take care of the full cost of Madam Adu Gyamfi’s travels and also stands ready to contribute towards a dignified funeral,” he said.
The assurance is expected to provide some relief to the bereaved family as they navigate the difficult period following the teenager’s tragic death.
Mr Ablakwa further stressed that the government’s commitment went beyond providing financial assistance for the mother’s trip and funeral arrangements.
He said the administration remained determined to work with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that justice was served in connection with Javits Frimpong’s murder.
The minister’s comments reaffirm the government’s position that it will continue to support the family while pursuing the necessary engagements with relevant authorities to ensure accountability.
The death of the young Ghanaian has drawn attention to the plight of his grieving family, with the government stepping in to help ensure that his mother can travel to the United States to mourn her son and give him a dignified farewell.
