We have not seen any policy they brought that has positively affected ordinary Ghanaian–TwinsDntBeg

According to a report by Ghanaweb on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Photography duo TwinsDntBeg have declared their preference for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying they cannot point to a single NDC policy that has improved life for the ordinary Ghanaian.

The twins, Emmanuel and Samuel Appiah Gyan, shared the view in an interview with Nana Romeo on UTV’s Atuu Show. They are known for photographing public figures, including former President Nana Akufo-Addo, and have been described as the official photographers of former Second Lady Samira Bawumia.

Looking back over the two parties’ records since the return to constitutional rule in 1992, the duo said they have followed both governments closely. Their reference point, they explained, is growing up under President John Agyekum Kufuor, whose administration introduced school feeding, the Metro Mass Transit service and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), among other initiatives. In their view, those programmes moved the country forward.

They also commended Akufo-Addo’s Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy, which they described as one of the best of its kind. According to them, its full impact will only be felt over the long term.

On the NDC, the twins were direct. They said that, despite the party’s combined years in power spanning more than three decades by their count, they have not seen a policy that has made a positive difference to everyday Ghanaians. “The NPP has performed way better than the NDC,” they said.

For context, the NPP governed from 2001 to 2009 under Kufuor and from 2017 to 2025 under Akufo-Addo. The NDC was in office from 1993 to 2001 under Jerry John Rawlings, and from 2009 to 2017 under John Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama. Mahama completed Mills’ term after his death in 2012 and returned to office in January 2025.

The remarks reflect the personal opinion of the duo and are not an assessment of either party’s record.
